31st July 2020
Marrickville Vet continues to follow the 1 person per 4 square metres guideline. This means that we can continue to have only 1 person in the consulting room with the vet.
You will notice our front of house staff will be wearing masks. We generally encourage clientele to wear them but they are currently not mandatory if you are visiting us.
We are stocked with plenty of hand wash so please go ahead and use it while in the clinic.
Friday 14th May
Marrickville Vet will return to opening our doors to clients. We do have to comply with social distancing requirements, so only 1 client will be permitted to enter the building at a time, and only 2 members of the public may be present in our waiting room at one time.
This may mean we have to ask you to wait outside for a short period of time. We appreciate everyone's patience. As previously notes, contactless payments are preferred.
Friday 27th March
Consistent with emerging best practice, our Marrickville Clinic will be trialling a drop-off only service from Saturday 28th March onwards. Only staff will be permitted to enter the building.
When you make an appointment, the receptionist will ask you on arrival to hand your pet over at the front door. You will be asked to wait nearby, for example in the comfort of your car.
The vet will complete an examination and phone you to discuss. Once the visit has concluded, you will be asked to collect your pet. We request if possible that bills are settled using contactless payment.
If you have respiratory symptoms (cough, fever, sore throat), or have been in contact with a COVID-19 case, we ask that you send your pet to us with someone else, for example a family member.
We appreciate your patience at this time as we try to protect everybody's health while providing an important service.
Tuesday 24th March
At present this page will serve to keep all AMS clients up to date with the latest in our ability to provide veterinary services as the COVID-19 crisis unfolds.
The current outlook is we will continue providing service until we are told not to or until a member of our team falls ill.
It’s our view that veterinary services are essential, and we hope and expect the government will feel the same way.
In the event of further restrictions, we have a number of measures we can take to continue providing some form of care, even if one or multiple of our clinics has to shut down temporarily.

How can you help us?
One way or another, we’ll get you looked after. Just call our friendly reception if you have any worries .
We really appreciate your understanding and cooperation at this time.
- Hand sanitiser is available at reception and in all consult rooms. Please use this upon arrival at the clinic.
- Where possible, consider a ‘drop off’ consultation, where you hand your animal to us at the front door, and we phone you as soon as we’ve completed an examination.
- For clients still wishing to enter the premises, due to new regulations, only 1 client is allowed in our consulting rooms with the vet. We ask that other family members wait outside the building or in their cars.
- Whilst you are in the waiting room please place a safe distance between you, other clients and our staff members
- If you have any cold or flu-like symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive, please do not enter the building, and instead call us ahead of time.
